What It (Really) Takes To Make Money Online From Home–Part 3

In Part 1 of this series, I disclosed what I believe to be the number one thing that separates those who successfully make money in an Internet home business opportunity, from those who think they are going to, but never do. In Part 2, I explained what gets in the way of most people’s success. Here, I’ll reveal some strategies and solutions for overcoming the challenges and beating the odds.

First, let’s review what happens:

We say “yes” to an opportunity, and begin investing both time and money in it, because we believe that this opportunity (business, product, affiliation) will solve our problems and transform our lives (more time, more money, more freedom, less stress).

While all that can be true, achieving those things comes at a cost; the cost is that we need to go outside our comfort zones in order to reach the goal. There really isn’t any way around that. The first order of business, then, is to accept (stop resisting) the idea that there is a period of growth, learning, and risk-taking that will not always feel comfortable. In fact, sometimes it will be downright hard.

This is when most people give up. Some even go away mad.

It is at this point, however, that a few will go on to become successful. Those who succeed are able to do so because they press on through the period of time when things feel least comfortable and most uncertain. They stay focused on the vision of what they want to achieve, and the reasons they want to achieve it. They stay the course–whatever it takes.

The good news is that the uncomfortable part is temporary. Rather, we learn and grow and end up with a new and much larger comfort zone than we previously had. It is larger because we have taken the risk to include new experiences, new knowledge, and new skills in it. The boundaries just naturally expand to include new things, once we have done them.

In summary, here’s what it will take to push out the boundaries of your comfort zone so that you have space to succeed:

Change your daily habits to include new ways of working,
Seek out and follow new leaders (whose dreams and successes are bigger than your own),

Think in new ways, and
Learn to let the negativity of those who liked you better when you were a little bit miserable, roll off and not discourage you. Real supporters will get used to the new, more positive you.

In closing:

Change is hard. It may be helpful to remember that human beings are equipped to handle change, learn new things, and push out the edges of our comfort zones until the unfamiliar becomes easy and routine–familiar and comfortable. That is how we grow; and we were made to grow.

So is the potential to make a lot of money online and have a different lifestyle real? It absolutely is. But many people will never get there because there is a fair amount of adjustment and change required to make it happen.

It takes an unusual person–only about 3 out of 100 people have what it takes–to succeed in making the adjustments gracefully (or stubbornly) and staying the course until the payoff comes.

If you are in that 3 percent, then you may very well have an exciting and prosperous future ahead of you (and I’d love to talk with you about that).

If, on the other hand, you are not, I wish you all the best in your continuing search and gently encourage you to stick with more traditional solutions. For you, the goal of $20,000/month online would probably take you farther outside your comfort zone than you are willing to go. Better to know that before you make any big decisions.

Be amazed and amazing–whatever path you choose,

Thia
