What It (Really) Takes To Make Money Online From Home–Part 2

In Part 1 of this series, I shared the first truth of what separates those who are successful making money online with a home business income opportunity from those who are not. [Hint: It is probably not what you think!]

Another truth is this: we set the boundaries of our personal comfort zones around those things that are the most familiar to us. In other words, the things we do, say, believe, act on, and surround ourselves with every day are inside our comfort zones and anything that is unfamiliar, new, or different puts us outside our comfort zones.

People who are mightily attracted to the IDEA of making a lot more money than they currently have, are in actuality, going to have to go outside of their comfort zones to make it happen. And if it is a LOT more money than they currently make, and/or it is a very different way of making a living, then the degree of discomfort in getting there is likely to be huge. For many–perhaps most–it will be the deal breaker.

Now here is something important!…

Just because something causes us to feel uncomfortable, doesn’t mean it is a bad thing; it just means that we are still uneasy with it because it is not yet familiar. We don’t feel as much control over our situations when we are outside our comfort zones–and let’s face it, we love control. The natural inclination is to scurry back to the familiar–even if we were not getting anywhere (good) in that place. See the problem?

So when we hear the message, “Make-money-doing-what-you-are-already-doing” (see Part 1) we are pulled toward it thinking, “Oh good: I won’t need to go outside my comfort zone; money will come to me!”

I hope at this point you STOP–and think–before you follow the call of that particular siren. It isn’t real. And I’d like to tell you why.

Stay tuned for the third installment in this mini-series, where I talk about solutions and strategies for those who are serious about finding and making the most of an Internet home-business opportunity.

Be amazed and amazing today,

Thia
